The Death of King Elizabeth: London Bridge is Down
Queen Elizabeth II, (lately the Queen of England and the head of the Common Wealth) is dead. Buckingham Palace announced the death of the Queen on Thursday.
The great monarch died peacefully at Balmoral Castle, her
estate in the Scottish Highlands. She was 96 years old at the time of her
demise. Her death is tagged “London Bridge is down.”
Earlier on Thursday, people gathered around her residence in London due to the report that she was in critical condition. Well wishers around the world and around UK were concerned about her health status.
Amidst
the prayers and concerns for the queen, The Royal Family, announced the news of
the queen’s death through a tweet that states “The Queen died peacefully at
Balmoral this afternoon”.
Queen Elizabeth II (Elizabeth Alexandra Mary) was born on 21st April, 1926. She became the queen of England and other 14 sovereign states on 6 February, 1952.
She remained the queen until her death on September 8, 2022, making
her the longest monarch in the history of the United Kingdom of Great Britain.
She was also the head of the Common Wealth until her demise.

The most unique thing that distinguishes the queen from her predecessors is that she lived through several notable eras of history. Queen Elizabeth II had witnessed World War II, lived through post-colonial era, post-imperial era and the post Brexit United Kingdom. She has seen history and lived through it.
Her demise does not only mark the end of her reign, but
a new era for the United Kingdom and members of the Common Wealth which she was
the head.
To mark the death of the Queen, the flag of Buckingham Palace
has been lowered to half-staff. Doctors have placed the body of the Queen under
proper supervision at Balmoral Castle for due procession.
Prince Charles, Now King Charles III Becomes the King of England
Meanwhile, in accordance with the British tradition, before the announcement of the Queen’s death, her eldest son, Prince Charles, has already taken over as the new King of England. He is named King Charles III.
Reports has it that the arrangement for the replacement of the Queen by Prince Charles, after her death, was already in place with the Queen bearing witness. The series of process for the transition of the British monarchy is tamed "Operation London Bridge".
The British National anthem therefore shifts from “God bless the Queen” to “God bless the King”.
Prince Charles, now King Charles III will make a statutory oath to uphold the Church of Scotland during the first Privy Council. He will also confirm the timing of the queen’s funeral service.
