There has been a high level of insecurity in Nigeria for decades. Although it all began in Northeast Nigeria with terrorist groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP, Southeastern Nigeria has recently faced several levels of insecurity as well. Several people have been kidnapped and killed.
For years, insecurity in Nigeria only affected ordinary citizens. The fact that the elite class is becoming victims of the system themselves have raised a question about who is now safe in the country. Meanwhile, Nigeria was recently ranked as the second most terrorized nation in the world after Iraq.
