The popular music artiste, Davido Adeleke, and his fiancé, Chioma, reportedly lost their first son, Ifeanyi, to untimely death.
Ifeanyi who just turned 3 is said to have died last night after rumors of his demise had already spread across social media in the late hours of yesterday.
Reports said that the boy got drowned in a swimming pool at the family's residence in Banana Island, Lagos, Nigeria. He was discovered hours later and rushed to the hospital in Lekki where he was confirmed dead by doctors.
"The boy was inside the water for too long and they pulled him out and rushed him to the hospital. By the time they rushed him to the Lagoon Hospital, it was already too late," a family source said through a report by sabiradio on Twitter.
A Mix of Condolences and Prayers for Davido and Chioma Over Report of Son's Dead
The report of the death of Davido's son, Ifeanyi, had raised concern across social media as condolences continue to flow across Nigeria and different parts of the world.
Daddy Freeze in a video shared on Instagram describes the report as a "heavy emotional burden". Comedian Lasisi Elenu also posted, “Father heal your children’s hearts from this pain, strengthen them in such a dark and hurtful time oh Lord.”
As of last night, Ifeanyi's death became the top trending topic on Twitter and across different Social Media platforms.
While many social media users seem not to believe in the news, others who confirmed it to be true have shared emotional emojis and expressed their concerns over the family, especially, Chioma's state of mind.
Hoax of Death and Life Over Davido's Son
The report of Ifeanyi's death remains a rumor. There is yet no confirmation from Davido or Chioma or any member of the family.
Many social media users had taken to their pages on Tuesday morning to say that Ifeanyi's death reports were hoaxes.
The news is said to have spread after a popular Nigerian actress, Eniola Badmus, shared the boy's photo on Instagram with an emotional emoji. Knowledge Trend Media has tried to get the screenshot of Eniola's post but it was already deleted as of the time of this report.
Twitter users had accused Instablog and other blogs to be responsible for the spread of the news.
