The creation of X.AI Corp is part of Musk's plan to create a giant company that handles everything app under the brand name "X Corp". The company has reportedly began to hire expert engineers, programmers and researchers who have worked for big tech industries like Microsoft and related companies.
A report by PC Mag suggests that the team responsible for building X.AI Corp is led by former executives of Alphabet INC and other notable experts in the field of AI development. Nevada company filing as accessed by Knowledge Trend Media shows that the company was registered and incorporated on March 9, 2023, as a domestic corporation. Meanwhile Elon Musk is the director of the company, while the secretary is Jared Birchall, the director of Musk’s family office.
The news of Musk's new AI plan has stirred diverse opinions. A few weeks ago, the the visionary entrepreneur and CEO, in collaboration with other tech company owners kicked against the proliferation of AI technology which they believed are detrimental to the future of mankind. While many seemed not to buy the idea of setting a stop to AI research and expansion, the following media trends were rumours of Musk investing in the same AI he agitated for a halt.
Business Insider earlier reported that Musk had purchased thousands of GPUs (graphic processing units) to power its upcoming generative AI products. The funding for this project would come from the other top tech companies already owned by Musk including SpaceX and Tesla. Already, the startup enterprise has already granted an offering of 100 million shares.
Musk is yet to openly reveal the aim of his new AI venture, but it is alleged that the creation of X Corp is part of his plan to construct a massive company that will contain a variety of tech products and services, like the "everything App" which Musk has transformed Twitter into. The giant corporation will have both tech and AI products expected to reach the top of the existing AI revolution.
