The CEO of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg, made this known to the public on Tuesday.
In a post published on his Facebook page, Zuckerberg said that this new feature allows WhatsApp users to login into their accounts simultaneously on a maximum number of devices.
"Starting from Today, you can log into the same WhatsApp account on up to four phones," Zuckerberg said.
WhatsApp and other Meta subsidiaries (Facebook and Instagram) had undergone several changes and improvements over the past few years since the company was created in 2009. The introduction of WhatsApp businesses, WhatsApp communities, shopping carts, and WhatsApp ads are the most prominent updates that the company had initiated recently.
With this new WhatsApp feature, users can log in into one account with different phones thereby providing social WhatsApp users the convenience of having access to their account from multiple devices, without having to log in and out of their accounts. It will therefore make it easier for individuals and businesses to stay connected and keep up to date with new messages across devices.
In addition, this new feature will help to keep users’ accounts secure. This is so because by allowing users to access their apps from multiple devices, their accounts will remain safe, even if one of their devices is lost or stolen. Also, WhatsApp users will be able to still communicate with their contacts even when one of their phones is faulty or has a low battery.
