Recall: Knowledge Trend Media earlier reported about Musk plan to step down from the company's CEO position but was continuously expressing his inability to find a better fit. Earlier this week, he alleged through a tweet that he had found a lady to replace him in 6 weeks as CEO without disclosing her identity. It is now clear that the unidentified Twitter's new CEO was Linda Yaccarino.
Who is Linda Yaccarino the New Twitter CEO?
Linda Yaccarino, 60, is the former Chairman of Advertising and Client Partnerships for NBCUniversal (an American multinational mass media and entertainment corporation), whose Elon Musk has appointed the new CEO of Twitter. Before her appointment as Twitter's boss, Yaccarino was responsible for advertising sales and client partnerships for NBCUniversal’s entire portfolio of broadcast, cable, and digital properties, including the NBC and Telemundo broadcast networks, the NBCUniversal cable networks, NBCUniversal Digital Enterprises, and NBCUniversal’s international advertising sales and partnerships.
Linda has been applauded as the power house that fueled and modernized the advertising prowess of her former company, NBCUniversal. The company's record shows that she generated over $100 billion worth of fortune for NBCUniversal from ad sales while supervising thousands of coworkers who worked under her.
Besides her time at NBCUniversal, Linda Yaccarino had served two years under Donald Trump's leadership as a member of the Council of Sports, Fitness and Nutrition, and worked with the White House and Pope Francis to create vaccination campaigns during the Covid-19 pandemic. She had also successfully partnered with Apple News, Snapchat, BuzzFeed, and other media industries in her past business deals.
The Main Challenges Awaiting the New Twitter CEO on Takeover
The attainment of the position of CEO of Twitter is not only a great accomplishment for Yaccarino, but through this role, she would have to prove everyone wrong and make realistic impacts to prove that she is capable of handling this great responsibility beyond doubt. This include making decisions that would help the company regain its reputations and financial losses which followed Musk's takeover, as well as bringing back advertisers to the platform.Twitter has battled financial losses since Elon Musk bought it on October, 2022, with a whooping sum of $44 billion. Besides buying the social media company at such a great price, many advertisers have left the platform on what they claim was due to uncertainties associated with the future of the company, while others left due to media blackmail and certain policies imposed by Musk.
In order to generate revenue to augment the lost funds, Musk had recently began to charge users for verified account subscription, a move that created a wide range of criticism globally. Therefore, the new CEO may need to retain the Twitter blue paid subscription policy or take another step that would keep the company running.
In addition to the above tasks, the new CEO will also need to fulfil Musk's dreams of turning Twitter to everything app, manage the X-Corp and its subsidiaries and review the changes Musk had made on the platform in recent times.
The above may seem like big responsibilities for the new CEO but with her experience and expertise, she may bring a surprise that wows everyone. Meanwhile, Musk's presence at the top management of the company means that the CEO is not alone to face these challenges as much remains one of the running force in the organization.
Many see Musk's choice to make Linda the CEO of Twitter as a positive move. Her background speaks well of her capacity but until she finally takes over as the full-time CEO and begin to make positive decisions, all eyes are on deck to see what the future holds for Twitter.
