The event to unveil the humanoid took place in Silicon Valley. The event also marked an annual Tesla Artificial Intelligent (AI) Day presentation.
Optimus, developed by Tesla electric car company, appeared on stage amidst a large crowd, waving to the audience who responded with a great ovation.
The robot will be produced in large numbers for mass marketing after going through to practical applications in the automobile industry. Elon Musk, however, said that the Optimus, humanoid, is a work in progress that may still take a few years (approximately three to five years) for it to be available to the public.
The Tesla CEO also said that the robots would be produced in mass quantity at a cost lower than $20,000.
In a video shared on Twitter, the prototype, robot was shown performing simple tasks such as carrying boxes, lifting metal bars, watering plants, and other simple activities that can add value to industries.

Meanwhile, Elon Musk is much more focused on creating artificial intelligence (AI) and robots that can replace humans in workplaces.
